“My purpose behind the work is to question and find understanding in the craziness, tragedy, vulnerability, beauty and power of mankind,” Christy Lee Rogers, a talented underwater photographer from Hawaii, wrote on her website.
Her latest series of photographs titled, “Muses,” breaks the standard underwater photography by invoking Baroque paintings as inspiration for her works.
Lee Rogers applies her technique to a barrage of bodies submerged in illuminated water which she photographs at night. The outcome features colorful figures that spiral in the deep water. Scroll down to see some of her latest creations.
