Super Bowl LIX was worth the wait, and it delivered one epic moment after another at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans on Sunday night. From Philly’s big win to Kendrick Lamar’s halftime show, here are five moments from the Big Game that went viral in a matter of minutes.

Philadelphia Eagles Win Big

The Philadelphia Eagles did the impossible on Sunday night, and stopped the Kansas City Chiefs from achieving a historic three-peat, while their quarterback Jalen Hurts was named the Super Bowl MVP.

Kendrick Lamar’s Halftime Show

Kendrick Lamar’s halftime show was one for the books, and he delivered several epic moments after bringing out a few A-list guests and taking jabs at Drake during his performance.

Taylor Swift Gets Booed

Taylor Swift attended the Super Bowl in support of her boyfriend Travis Kelce, and became an instant meme after her reaction of being booed by a largely pro-Eagles crowd went viral.

“Ugly” Scorebug

The NFL introduced a new scorebug at this year’s Super Bowl, but fans weren’t too pleased with its overly minimalist look, with many wishing they left it as it was.

Stitch Crashes Super Bowl

Several trailers and star-studded ads aired during the Super Bowl, but none created as much commotion as the promo for the live-action Lilo & Stitch, which saw our favorite blue alien taking over the football field.

Crochet has been going strong for quite some time, and we’ve seen many fiber artists build a huge following after giving it a shot. Anneli Xie and Aleksander Jaworowski of Wool & Buggers became a true viral sensation thanks to their crochet creations, including their adorable series “Quack Couture”.

Xie and Jaworowski discovered their love for crochet while looking for a way to express themselves creatively in the midst of the COVID-19 lockdowns. Crocheting brought them the peace they desperately craved during this time and helped them transform their small student apartment into a true artistic oasis.

They describe their brand Wool & Buggers as “a process of sheltering and of homemaking… of finding and looking and missing and gaining.” It let their individual talents shine, with Jaworowski refining his fly-tying skills and Xie dabbling in crochet and fiber arts to create something extraordinary by each other’s side.

Wool & Buggers is best known for its “Quack Couture” series, which perfectly encapsulates their mission to create crochet that nurtures your inner child. This adorable series is mostly inspired by ducks, and they offer a wide range of patterns on their official website and Etsy store for anyone who wants to recreate their designs. Quack vests are their signature product, but you can use their patterns to crochet everything from sweaters to cardigans.

If you are looking for a unique decoration piece or quirky vase that will bring a smile to your face every time you look at it, then make sure to check out the works by ceramic artist Helen Burgess.

In her own words, Burgess creates “handmade ceramic silliness.” Her ceramic figurines and vessels are everything but ordinary. They usually feature animals with expressive faces, unexpected gestures, and disproportional body parts. Each looks like it has its own personality, and they are absolutely charming.

According to Burgess, she has an “obsession for animals, usually the weirder and more obscure.” This made them a natural subject when she started doing ceramics as a hobby in 2010.

Despite being a self-taught artist, she quickly mastered the practice and found her unique style. Eventually, her creations found an audience, and she decided to start a business called “nosey mungo” to give people the opportunity to own them.

Nowadays, every new collection Burgess creates is quickly sold out, but fans of her work don’t need to worry about missing out on her pieces.

“Being forever curious about nature will always give me new creative inspiration,” Burgess shares on her website.

Erin Clarkson is a trained geologist who even spent some time working on an oil rig, but she found her true calling in a completely different walk of life. She created quite a commotion with her food blog Cloudy Kitchen, and she’s using her scientific background to develop the most delicious recipes.

Clarkson studied geology and geography, and she developed an understanding of the scientific process during her time at the university. Her background in this field shaped her journey as a baker and influenced the way she develops recipes today. She’s a huge believer that baking is an absolute science, and her process includes obsessive testing, re-testing, and making tiny tweaks before she gets it 100% right.

Another thing that inspired Clarkson’s journey as a baker was her move from New Zealand to New York. She spent her now-husband Rick while working at an oil rig, and used cooking to cure her homesickness after moving with him to New York.

“I started baking a few of my favorite New Zealand recipes to bring a bit of home closer to me… As my homesickness gradually faded my baking and recipes began to take on more and more inspiration from my experiences in America,” she explains on her official website.

Clarkson now specializes in sharing accurate, repeatable, and thoroughly tested recipes with the world, and they helped her attract almost 500,000 to her Instagram page Cloudy Kitchen.

At first glance, the works of Vanessa Stockard are classic oil paintings depicting recreations of Old Masters, portraiture, landscapes, still life, and lavish interiors. However, once you look closer, you will notice something unexpected: a tiny black cat that sneaked into the composition.

Black cats are actually always the main stars of Stockard’s artwork. The Australian artist finds ways to incorporate them into every painting she does. Sometimes they are prominently featured, mostly in her original works, while other times they lurk in the backgrounds, waiting for the viewer to discover their hiding spot.

In her paintings, Stockard often features her own cats as well as black cats that she came to meet over the years. But arguably the most popular black cat featured in her works, a crown-wearing feline named Kevin, doesn’t actually exist.

In one interview, Stockard shared that Kevin was created when she mistook a sock in her studio for a kitten. She decided to bring that kitten to life through her paintings and give it a crown so people could spot it more easily.

“I paint cats. I understand cats. As much as anyone can understand cats, “Stockard shares in her profile at Birdcage Collective art gallery.

Camp Hollow is one of the quirkiest ceramic brands you’ll ever stumble upon, and their porcelain creations have the power to transport you to a different world. They became a true sensation thanks to their signature porcelain cake toppers, meant to capture the enchanting beauty of the natural world.

Camp Hollow is a porcelain brand based in Utah, and its founder JK Dreamer is on a quest to create a space where others can find solace, inspiration, and a touch of whimsy. Memories of joyful moments spent in nature inspired him to start Camp Hallow with a group of fellow artists who share his vision.

Camp Hollow’s creations usually take the shape of animals crafted and hand-painted in perfect detail, ranging from ducks and owls to deer and foxes. They take the shape of candles, necklaces, and tiny figurines, but this brand is definitely best known for its candle holders that can bring the magic of nature to any cake.

Despite their tiny size, a lot of work goes into each of these pieces, and it usually takes between three and four months to produce them.

“We begin with a concept for a new nature-inspired necklace, figurine, or cake topper, and start the design process with pencil sketches and digital drawings. From there, we sculpt the design from clay, a mold is produced by our partners who pour a ceramic slip cast. The pieces are then fired, painted, glazed, and fired again,” reads the brand’s official website.

Drawing on fogged windows is strangely captivating. Using just your finger, you can let your imagination lose and draw silly shapes, initials, or intricate scenes. Sure, it won’t last long, but it still gives us some kind of satisfaction and makes us feel like we have tapped into our creativity.

There is also a certain level of nostalgia to drawing on fogged windows. It is a habit we usually pick up as children and returning to it always evokes memories and oozes with the feel of escapism.

For German artist Jochen Mühlenbrink, this practice proved to be an inspiration for an intriguing series of oil paintings. Each of these artworks looks like a photograph of a fogged window taken moments after someone finished drawing on it.

Mühlenbrink’s paintings feature simple fogged window drawings like animals, emojis, and various incoherent lines. But what really draws the attention is the world that hides past that window, the world blurred with the fog and only hinted throughout the small cracks offered by the lines of the drawing itself.

“I am amazed by the obviously visible world. But this actually connects me more with the invisible. So steam or fog is just the medium at this time I use to show my fascination for the act of seeing,” Mühlenbrink shared in a recent interview with Overstandard.

Mother Nature inspired many artists to spread their wings and fly, and Vitor Velez is celebrating it in his own ways. His wildlife subjects are living their best lives between the lines of his intricate illustrations, which represent a unique fusion of scientific art and nature journaling.

Velez is the mastermind behind the Instagram page The Headlessketcher, and his fascination with art and animals has always gone hand in hand. He spent countless hours as a child browsing through wildlife encyclopedias and trying to copy the illustrations he found inside, treasuring all that nature had to offer.

Many years later, Velez’s art is still inspired by the beauty of the natural world, and he wants his illustrations to evoke a sense of exploration and discovery.

“Drawing parallels to scientific illustration, I delve into meticulous research and attention to detail to capture the unique characteristics of each animal I paint. However, I refrain from pursuing a rigid realistic representation, striving to maintain a unique feeling of artistic identity in my work,” he writes on his official website.

Velez mostly uses pen drawing, colored pencils, and watercolor in his work, tailoring his technique to each new piece. Even though his approach to art is constantly evolving, his illustrations are instantly recognizable by the hand-written notes that give them an encyclopedic feel.

The Oscar season is upon us, and everyone seems to be celebrating it in style—including our favorite illustrators. Kyle Hilton paid homage to his favorite films of the year with the viral “Oscar Brawl” illustration for Entertainment Weekly, which will truly test your movie knowledge.

Hilton is a digital artist based in Jackson, Mississippi, with a pretty impressive resume behind him. In addition to publishing several books and collaborating with other authors, his illustrations also made their way to such high-profile publications as The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Forbes, Variety, and The Hollywood Reporter.

Entertainment Weekly is his latest partner in crime, and the “Oscar Brawl” illustration that he created for this magazine quickly went viral. It’s giving “Where’s Waldo?” vibes, and it will have you searching for your favorite movies that made their way to the silver screen in 2024.

Just like its name suggests, this illustration features tiny movie people from several major Oscar contenders, including Wicked, Conclave, The Substance, and Anora. It’s also sprinkled with references to major Hollywood blockbusters, such as Twisters, Gladiator 2, and Deadpool & Wolverine, while also paying homage to several indie darlings, including Thelma, A Different Man, and We Live in Time.
