Eun Kyung Park’s Nail Art Is Not for the Faint of Heart

Eun Kyung Park challenges our ideas about nail art (and beauty in general), playing with textures, shape, and colors, transforming in turn, her clients’ hands into contemporary pieces of art. Based in Seoul, her clients include K-Pop artists, high-profile social media influencers, and models at Seoul Fashion Week; with her nail art being featured in top tier fashion publications like Vogue and Refinery29.

“I think the concept of beauty is simply an idea of self-care,” she told Dazed Digital. “Everyone can have a different standard of ‘beautiful’ or ‘pretty,’ so I think it’s an idea of trying to present oneself according to their own standards. I guess it’s all for the self-satisfaction.”

When it comes to beauty, Kyung Park knows a thing or to. “As soon as I was old enough to go to high school and started learning about make-up, I knew I wanted to learn those skills at a beauty academy,” she admitted. “After a while studying make-up at the academy, I realized I wasn’t very interested anymore. That’s when my teacher suggested trying nail art.”

With more than 350k followers on Instagram, there’s no slowing her down.
