Millie Putland’s illustrations became a huge hit on social media thanks to her vibrant style and attention to detail. She made a name for herself with lively illustrations of beautiful cities from all around the world, and she recently shifted focus to her viral “American City” collection.
Putland started her journey as an illustrator during the pandemic while looking for a way to keep her sense of wanderlust alive.
“Illustrating wanderlust travel art and bright and bold prints and stationery to keep my mind off of the pandemic and the anxieties that we were all faced with. It seems I was making a lot of people smile as my work reminded them of those precious memories with loved ones or moments in time you want to remember forever,” she writes on her official website.
She wants her illustrations to make people dream of new places, and many of them are inspired by her travels. Her travel prints pay homage to many dreamy destinations she has visited over the years, from Paris and Santorini to Palma Mallorca and the Amalfi Coast.
Putland recently kicked off her “American City” collection, and we’ve seen her capture the vibrant spirit of several metropolises in her unique style. Chicago was the first city on her agenda, and she went on to illustrate Nashville, Charleston, New York, and Boston.
