U/Devils_advocate1629: "I have minute hearing in my deaf ear so I can’t just sleep on my good ear if someone’s making noise it’s just a lot quieter and muffled, I struggle with this a lot tho because people don’t really understand that I’m not fully hearing but I’m also not fully deaf, my favorite part about it is when people get irritated at me and yell 'are you freaking deaf or something?!?!'

And I just go 'Yes, my right ear cannot in fact hear you fully', their faces are always great, cons? I get neither the benefits of hearing people or deaf people can’t cancel out noise because it still has a little bit of function but also can’t control how loud or quiet I’m being correctly because I can’t really hear myself fully."

U/Thatswhatim_saiyan: "I worked nights for about 4 years, personally I love it. But one of the downsides is on the days you have off. You're sitting around at 3am bored but unable to sleep. I tried [working] in the garage too get some projects done.

The then wife came out one fateful night and very politely said 'I know you're up at this hour normally. But could you not run the air compressor at 3am. The neighbors are going to think you're building a…lab.'. Good point, good point."

U/p4ttl1992: "Yeah, I have a bunch of girls at my work, and they tell me everythinggggg. They all hate each other, yet they are nice to each other in the office constantly complaining, etc. One said to me the other day, 'Don't you think it's bad that vicky starts 5 minutes late? Does her make up for 20 minutes, then starts work??'

I said, 'Why do you care? Are you paying her wages?' Lol, don't think she liked it. I came from another [guy] that was absolutely toxic, so I stayed out of all the drama. Go in every now and then, and they catch me up on everything."

U/x058394446: "While I was in middle school our apartment was robbed sometime between my mom leaving for work and me coming home for lunch. About six months ago I found out the people who robbed us were my best friend’s brother and aunt.

My best friend’s ex-wife told me this. In hindsight everything that happened leading up to that day should have made it obvious. Funny enough, I hadn’t seen this person in ten years and when my health started declining I reached out to him to make amends while I could. This was about a year before I found out."

U/dirtymoney: "Pretty sure the landlord put a camera in the attic space while making a big show of not getting another camera to work (the system uses multiple cameras and they may not know that I know that). We have a raccoon problem and the landlord 'fixed' it but there is still a problem. I think they think I am going up there making noise since they cannot catch any racoons or find where they are getting in.

The other tenants are complaining about the noises. The only access to the attic is in my apartment. I do not go up there anyway (because it is unsafe and I have balance issues due to health problems), but still, it annoys me that they may have tried to fool me by making a big show of not being able to get a wireless camera to work."
