Today, many artists are into graffiti art and you can see various paintings from animals to people, from landscapes to abstract.

Portuguese artist, Sergio Odeith, showcased his graffiti skills through his insect-inspired drawings. You can see a lot of his murals designed by these creatures and most of them are really creepy.

Odeith began making graffiti in the 90’s when it was first gaining popularity in his native country. He started with simple sketches on street walls and train tracks but later on, moved forward into large-scale murals. The artist’s special interest was in perspective and shading in an obscure style, which he referred to as “sombre 3D.”

In 2005, the Lisbon-based muralist was internationally recognized for his innovative incursions in the anamorphic art genre, “standing out for his compositions created in perspective and painted in different surfaces, such as 90º corners or from the wall to the floor, creating an optical illusion effect,” according to his website.

Each of the pieces flawlessly blends the genres to create something that’s surreal but probable. Through his work, he tries to convey a message about the relationship between humans and nature.

“Are there things and places that graffiti should not be? Who is to say what surface is to be kept graffiti clean? My personal concern is that this will be a reality some day and speaks to a larger issue of our relationship with the natural world. The satellite and space graffiti hints that even if we colonize other worlds, what mark will we leave? No matter where we go there is evidence of our presence.” – Keyes said in one of his latest interviews.

When Hip Hop culture arrived in Brazil in the 80’s, OSGEMEOs found a direct way to connect with the public, exploring the various techniques of painting, drawing, and sculpture, and had the streets as their place of experiment.

“They never stopped making graffiti, but over the years, this universe created by the duo, with which they dream and inspire, surpassed the streets, becoming a language of its own and in constant evolution, with other references and influenced by new cultures ,” their website reads.

The duo is now recognized locally and globally, with various projects around the world. They did exhibitions in different countries such as Cuba, Chile, USA, Spain, Italy, Germany, England, Lithuania, and Japan.
