Powerful Portraits of Women by Robin F. Williams

New York-based painter Robin F. Williams paints women in a powerful way that shows “micro-expressions and how we read each other’s cues,” as she said in an interview with Juxtapoz. Her paintings vary in styles and textures but, most of the time they feature strong women with broad shoulders and expressive faces.

“I want to compress time in these paintings by using multiple markers within one piece, either through form or narrative. The goal is not to make a painting that feels timeless, but to make a painting that feels outside of time,” the artist says. Her work is currently displayed at Various Small Fires in Los Angeles under the solo show titled With Pleasure. If you want to see it there, it will be available until October 26th, 2019. If you’re too far away, you can check out her Instagram page for more work – she currently has over 72k followers there.
